Landscape Maintenance Team Member

We are hiring the following positions based on knowledge, attitude and experience in the industry:

Crew Member
• Lead Hand
• Supervisor

Crew Member

  1. Ability to work in a team.

  2. Basic understanding and operation of small engine equipment including string trimmer, blower, bed edger, hedge trimmer, and mowers.

  3. Basic knowledge of annual and perennial plant material.

  4. Site clean-up (weeding, tools, dead plant material).

  5. Loading and unloading of truck and trailer.

  6. Punctuality is a must.

  7. Assist with equipment maintenance.

Training will be provided, an opportunity for advancement within the company is available and encouraged.

Qualifications: Previous landscape maintenance experience an asset and transportation to and from work.

Lead Hand

  1. Coaching, teaching and motivating crew members in a positive and professional manner.

  2. Assist Supervisors with training, timesheets, and tail-gate meetings.

  3. Ability to communicate with employees as well as customers in a courteous and professional manner.

  4. Thorough understanding and safe usage of all equipment, proper techniques, work procedures, maintenance, and safety issues in accordance with company and legislative regulations.

  5. Pruning of various plant material including trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials.

  6. PPE usage and enforcement.

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have a Valid G license, truck and trailer experience, basic plant identification knowledge, College/University education and asset.

Supervisor

  1. Demonstrate leadership and guidance to the crew.

  2. Ensures truck, trailer, and equipment are loaded appropriately and safely.

  3. Delegation of work tasks in an efficient manner.

  4. Organize and discuss the daily plans with teammates.

  5. Training in proper techniques, maintenance, and work procedures.

  6. Proficiency with all equipment including mowing, trimming, pruning, and overall plant health care.

  7. Regular inspection of job sites and equipment.

  8. Compliance with all company policies and regulations.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have Supervisory experience and strong horticultural background. 2-3 years of experience in the landscape maintenance industry as well as a valid G License and experience operating a truck and trailer required.

Working Conditions and Requirements

  • Ability to work with hand tools, small engines equipment and materials.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs, repeatedly as needed.

  • Fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent stamina.

  • Working and adapting outdoors in various weather conditions.

  •  High attention to detail.
